For this project, the fin clients needed to be able to set commission budgets across a number of dimensions and wanted to be able to monitor the commissions generated and paid out. They also wanted to compare their budgets through visualizations, reports, alerts and data review. My role on the project was to create a cohesive and modern design system based on the ITG branding that would let the financial visualizations be the focal point of the application. The biggest challenges on the project were the detailed bar charts/graphs and making the complexity of the nested data input fields on the budget set up screen.

We created a robust style guide to support two development teams – our developers and ITG developers – who were working in tandem. The developers needed a strong design foundation to build the application and make sure they both were drawing from the same source. We broke out such elements as colors, typography, buttons, input controls and form fields to name a few. We also showed all the states of the elements and broke out spacing and sizing.
